I Was Wrong About The Polar Express

I love The Polar Express. I’ve always loved The Polar Express. I even made a video about it last year to clarify that my opinion on the film is correct and everybody who disagrees is wrong.

But, while I will always support the animated film while I still draw breath, my thoughts on the video game adaptation are a little different. Here’s why I was wrong about The Polar Express (the video game).

How Historically Accurate is Every Mission in Red Dead Redemption?

While Red Dead Redemption 2 may have blown away the rest of the medium with its attention to detail, it wouldn’t have done so without the rich world and detail of the original game—and its deep historical connections evident throughout each mission, character, and line of dialogue.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Radio Stations)

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has eleven radio stations with over 150 songs. Interestingly, all of its songs, chatter, and commercials are uncensored, and many feature swearing or other indecent material that, in real life, may have been in violation of FCC guidelines and potentially subject to fines. But which radio station would be fined the most?

Schindler's List

John Williams is perhaps the most iconic film composer in history. He has been nominated for more than 50 Academy Awards and won five, and has worked with prolific director Steven Spielberg on almost all of his films. So, for him to doubt his own ability before working on Schindler's List really speaks to the power of the film.

Grave of the Fireflies

Grave of the Fireflies is based heavily on real history: director Isao Takahata’s take on a short story written by Akiyuki Nosaka based on his own childhood experiences. The film is a beautiful, fascinating examination of two young people thrown into a devastating scenario in a country on the brink of losing a war, with several real historical connections to tie it all together. So, let’s take a look at the real history of Grave of the Fireflies.

Have you ever heard a piece of music and wished it was longer?

Ever heard part of a soundtrack during a movie and wanted to listen to the full thing?
